Main Sewer Line Cleaning on the South Shore

When more than one drain backs up at once, the problem is usually the main sewer line. We clear blocked and root-packed sewer lines at the source.

When it’s more than one drain

A single slow sink is a drain problem. Several fixtures gurgling or backing up at the same time — or a toilet that bubbles when the washer drains — usually points to the main sewer line. That’s the line we specialize in.

  • Multiple drains backing up
  • Gurgling toilets
  • Sewage odor
  • Water at floor drains
  • Recurring main-line clogs

Getting to the Root of the Problem

If your main sewer line keeps backing up, the blockage may be a symptom of an underlying issue rather than just a one-time clog. Many older homes throughout Nassau County, especially along the South Shore, still have clay or cast iron sewer lines that can develop worn joints, small openings, or other conditions that affect how the pipe drains. Over time, tree roots can enter these vulnerable areas, restricting wastewater flow and leading to recurring backups.

Another common issue with older sewer lines is improper pitch, where a section of pipe settles and no longer maintains the slope needed for wastewater to flow properly. When water and debris collect in these low areas, buildup can develop and make recurring blockages more likely.

Our first goal is to clear the blockage and restore proper flow. If a clog continues to return or there are signs of a larger issue, a sewer camera inspection can be performed to take a closer look inside the line. This can help identify conditions such as tree root intrusion, pipe deterioration, buildup, or a back-pitched section of the sewer line so you have a better understanding of what may be causing the problem.
